Yo empezaría por resetear la PRAM. si eso no funciona, en lugar de C al inciar aprieta Alt (option) y te mostrará el HD y el CD/DVD en caso de que pueda leerlo, si solo muetra el HD y sigue expulsando el DVD, puede que: 1) el lector no vaya 2) que solo lea cds 3) que el DVD de sistema esté rayado o dañado.
Cambia el lector por cualquier unidad IDE de pc que sepas que funciona. comprueba la integridad de los datos del dvd en otro mac.
Normalmente, aunque el HD esté petado, el sistema debería arrancar del dvd. Intenta todo esto y después me dices que tal. Suerte!!!!
