Seguramente es porque no está indexado correctamente. Ya le pasan estas cosas a Spotlight. En macupdate puedes encontrar la aplicación "Rebuild Spotlight Index By SW 2.7", que al instalarla ya realiza un indexado. Depende de la máquina puede tardar horas. En el macbook me ha tardado 45 minutos. Es freeware. En realidad lo único que hace es utilizar los comandos unix que hay para este propósito.
