Prueba a formatear los equipos con "windows 98" y seguro que ganarás velocidad. Por mi propia experiencia, se cumple la siguiente regla inversamente proporcional:
A más tiempo de uso peor velocidad.
Es que nunca he entendido la cantidad de cosas que Windows "recoge por el camino" es como una bola de nieve "pero de color azul".
