No hay manera de arrancar el modo Diagnostico - landoq - 09-02-2016

Hola


Esta mañana ha llegado la ampliación de memoria para uno de los iMacs del estudio, la hemos instalado y ha arrancado sin problemas pero queríamos comprobar la memoria con el test de Apple, se supone que es con la tecla D al encender según indica Apple en su página de soporte pero no hay manera de arrancar el dichoso modo de diagnóstico. Se trata de un iMac del 2008 con OS X Capitan. ¿ alguna idea ?

El modo diagnostico sólo funciona en Macs posteriores al 2013. Para modelos anteriores has de usar el Apple Hardware Test.

Ah y para iniciar el AHT en un mac del 2008 deberías de tener disponible  el disco dos que veía con la máquina ya que en ese modelo no existía la posibilidad de recuperar via Internet, sólo via unidad óptica.

Para indicarte el AHT debes indicar el ID del modelo y como dices que el iMac es del 2008 los ID podrían ser:

iMac8,1 ( 20 pulgadas )
iMac8,2 ( 24 pulgadas )

con este dato te puedo indicar el AHT a descargar y como instalarlo en un flash USB.

aqui tienes donde localizar el ID del iMAC donde pone macbook pro deberas leer iMac xxx

he descargado el archivo y estoy leyendo el doc Installing ASD on a USB hard drive pero me pierdo en el paso 6 que indica que el DMG incluye dos imágenes, una para EFI y otra para OS.  En el DMG que me linkaste no hay ninguna imagen dentro, solo archivos PDF.

ya he conseguido instalarlo en un pendrive y arrancar desde el, aparece un interface con estética Mac OS Classic e inicia un proceso de análisis pero me salta una alerta indicando que no es compatible con este modelo. ¿alguna idea?

He mirado en la web Apple Serial Number info y por lo visto la versión de test es Apple Hardware Test 3A138, pero no se donde descargarla.
