Start with what the showcases actually show

Before putting your POE currency into any of these setups, separate the pitch from the details. The POE 3.29 Ghostly Artillery Strength Stacker is presented as a strong choice for deep Delve and bosses in Curse of the Allflame. That sounds promising, but there's no damage total, gear cost, or defensive breakdown to work with. The Cold Damage over Time entry is thinner still. It names Luminary and Vaal Cold Snap without explaining how the character comes together. Neither showcase gives you enough information for a fair numerical comparison with the Gladiator. They're ideas worth exploring, not complete shopping lists.

The price jump deserves a closer look

The Gladiator account offers more detail, though its two spending levels need to stay separate. The original example reportedly delivered around 187M DPS on 20 Divines. The player then put approximately 200 Divines into their own character, which carries a conditional 200M DPS claim. Don't read that as a tidy upgrade curve. These aren't matched tests with identical conditions. For this player, the appeal was escaping earlier bleed builds that reportedly sat around 40-50M DPS despite mirror-tier axes. Plans for Righteous Fire and Death's Oath gave way to retaliation. The goal wasn't just a bigger number, either. They wanted wide clearing, low-input mapping, and enough damage to take on Ubers without rebuilding the character around each fight.

The damage number has a catch

Divine Retribution does the heavy lifting, with Doryani's Prototype and Replica of Nebulis supplying the scaling. Pact of Beidat reportedly brings boss hits to somewhere between 23 and 30 per cast. Greater Spell Cascade might deserve testing, but the account doesn't establish any extra overlap from it. Then there's availability. The Gladiator Ascendancy, No Forgiveness, and Runegraph of Time reportedly provide a 90% chance not to consume the retaliation cooldown. You still need a block and the right cooldown outcome. The player estimates roughly 50/50 uptime in practice and adjusts cooldown recovery in Path of Building to represent it. With a cast time below 0.29 seconds, three casts per second may look tempting on paper. Getting those casts when you need them is another matter.

Easy clearing still needs careful gearing

For maps, Cast When Stunned triggers Penance Brand of Conduction and Shock Nova. According to the player, incoming hits set off enough damage to clear packs across the screen, leaving little reason to press Divine Retribution during ordinary clearing. That's the comfortable part. The defensive setup takes more work. Doryani's Prototype makes the negative lightning resistance problem central to the build, so the described solution shifts all incoming elemental damage to Fire and Chaos. Dawnbreaker, Watcher's Eye, and Divine Flesh handle most of that conversion. Bound by Destiny and four Hunter-influenced items cover the remaining 10%. That last piece isn't optional if you're aiming for the claimed complete conversion. Mageblood adds movement speed, convenience, and the maximum Fire Resistance needed for the shifted damage. The reported effective health exceeds 1M against hits, not every damage type.

The uncomfortable part is damage over time

Righteous Fire adds spell damage, but the player describes ground degeneration as lethal while it's active. Switching it off reportedly makes T17 Abomination, Uber Sirus, and Uber Exarch much more comfortable. That's a trade worth noticing before copying the damage configuration. A life-stacking version gets mentioned as a possible improvement, yet there's no finished setup or measured result to judge. Removing Lifetap is another unresolved problem. If you're weighing cheap POE currency against the cost of assembling this character, price the required defensive pieces before chasing the headline DPS. The attraction is clear: relaxed pack clearing with retaliation ready for tougher targets. Just don't mistake strong protection against hits for permission to stand in persistent ground damage.
